Purpose of this criterion
To convert "images of text" to actual text so that:
- assistive technologies can read and extract the words
- users can select, edit, resize and re-flow text
- users can change the background colour
- users can manipulate the PDF for accessibility
How to Fix
- Option 1: Tools > Enhance Scans > Recognize Text > In This File > Recognize Text
- Option 2: Select the error "Image-only PDF" under Accessibility Checker > Right click and select "Fix"
Important
Use the "Reading Order" Tool and the "Tags" pane to verify if the content is properly tagged.
