MAINTENANCE RELEASE REGRESSION TESTING

This section addresses maintenance release regression testing while at least one Division has gone into production, but development for at least one other Divisions is underway by EMA. In this situation, the following protocols are in place for regression testing of maintenance releases from IBM.

·        COT is responsible for regression testing functionality deployed to PROD.

·        Maintenance releases will first be applied by COT to the DEV environment.

·        COT will perform a limited number of regression tests to confirm general system availability prior to informing EMA of a successful update.

·        EMA will review the release notes and specifically test any fixes relating to issues identified as part of this program. Where such issues have been resolved, EMA will recommend COT coordination validation of the issue resolution in the QA environment by the impacted business users.

·        EMA is responsible for regression testing of development in process.

·        EMA will perform and document regression testing in DEV based on a subset of previously documented UAT tests.

·        COT will perform automated and limited manual regression testing in SIT and QA.

o   Regression testing assumed to occur in QA based on a restore from PROD prior to applying the change(s)

o   Regression testing in SIT may also be helpful but will not replace regression testing in QA based on a restore from PROD
