QuickMaps Search

The search bar allows the user to zoom in to their desired location.

Standard

Users can search by the following:

• Find Current Location (GPS)

  • Works best on phones

  • May not be accurate on desktops

• Street Address

  • E.g. 55 John Street

• Placename

  • E.g. Metro Hall

• Intersection

  • E.g. Queen & John

Options

The following options are available for the Search bar

Label

• Can be customized, e.g. “Search for public art by location, address or title”

Locate button

• Different icon is being tested on 311 site – this requires study before rolling out further

• Button name is usually Find Location

• Find Address may be used if only address is searched

• Note: icon should be removed in future

Search first

Some maps have too much information to display on the map. In these cases, the user must enter an address to return a result specific to that address.
