Program Requirements

Before You Start

  • Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements, as outlined in the "Who Can Apply" section

  • Have the following ready to complete the application:

    1. An email address

    2. PRESTO card number

    3. Toronto address, matching the address associated with the program you participate in (as listed below)

    4. Proof of Program Participation

      • Ontario Works (OW) - Member ID

      • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) - Member ID

      • Child Care Fee Subsidy (through Toronto Children's Services) - Household ID (Client File Number)

      • Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) assistance (Subsidized Housing) - most recent letter you received from your housing provider that shows your address and monthly rental amount

Terms of Use

By submitting this application form, you are confirming that you understand and agree to the following:

  1. The information provided on this application form is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you understand that providing misleading or false information is illegal and you may be subject to legal action, including criminal charges.

  2. You are responsible for providing any information that may impact the administration of the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program on your PRESTO card, including replacement PRESTO card numbers, while participating in the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program.

By submitting this application form, you are also providing consent to the following:

  1. The City of Toronto using the information provided to identify you as an Ontario Works client, Ontario Disability Support Program client, or Toronto Children's Services child care fee subsidy recipient, or a Rent-Geared-to-Income housing subsidy recipient, in order to assess your eligibility for the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program.

  2. The City of Toronto sharing your PRESTO card number(s), including any replacement PRESTO card numbers, and your Fair Pass Transit Discount Program eligibility with the Toronto Transit Commission ("TTC") (as operator of the transit system in and around the City of Toronto) and Metrolinx (as operator of the PRESTO fare collection system) for the purpose of validating your PRESTO card and administering the Fair Pass discount on your card.

  3. Metrolinx collecting your PRESTO card number(s) and Fair Pass Transit Discount Program eligibility from the City of Toronto in order to validate your PRESTO card and apply the Fair Pass discount on your card.

  4. TTC and Metrolinx sharing your PRESTO card number(s) and replacement PRESTO card numbers to the City of Toronto, in the event that your Fair Pass discount is transferred to a new PRESTO card.

  5. TTC providing Fair Pass usage reports to the City of Toronto for the purpose of administering the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program subsidy payment and evaluating participation in the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program.

Your consent is given for the stated purpose only and shall remain valid while you are a participant of the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program. You may withdraw your consent at any time by giving notice to the Application & Support Centre. Should you withdraw your consent, the Fair Pass discount will be removed from your PRESTO card.

Social Development, Finance & Administration collects personal information on this form under the legal authority of Item EX20.10, City Council Decisions 2-5, as confirmed by the City of Toronto By-law 1290-2016 and Item EX24.8, City Council Decision 3B, as confirmed by the City of Toronto By-law 523-2021, the Metrolinx Act, 2006, sections 6 and 7, and City of Toronto Act, 2006, S.O. 2006, c. 11, Schedule A, Part XVII.
