COPADA |

Strength | 1. It can be easy to do comparisons between source and target sandbox. In our case dev and sit environment has been used for comparisons 2. It can be clear to set custom metadata filters, in our case, "create by" has been used as filter. 3. It can be assistant to do advanced dependency analysis. In our case, Personal-Account Layout has been figure out to be removed. 4. It can catch validation errors after automated testing. 5.No need for installation or plugin 6.No need for training | 1. It has reduced the time taken to deploy large sets of components from one environment to another. 2. Selection of components takes less time due to the filtering option provided, also the availability to Search using commit Id (Git Metadata) makes the deployment process easier. 3. The option provided in terms of Test runs is an additional and helpful feature. 4. Deployment option of using different type Metadata/Git Metadata provides the flexibility needed for CI/CD process. 5.Good for version control and branch management 6.Need for installation 7.Need for training
| 1.Link Jira tickets to Salesforce deployments 2.Quickly reference back to Jira 3.See status of Blue Canvas deployments in Jira 4. easy rollback and Restore 5.good at Project management, ability to comment and attach stories
| 1.Easily book an demo 1 Easily accessible 2 Can integrate with almost all DevOps tools like GitHub, bit bucket , JIRA. 3 great source code management system 4 rollback feature is enabled 5 Best thing is it is natively built on salesforce. It is easy to configure. 6 We can choose the metadata required to get deployed 7 Apex test coverage 8. 100% 5 stars so far | 1.Good version control tool for deployments; 2.Good in determining and resolving conflicts between branches 3.Need for installation 4.Need for training
| 1.The quick responses from technical support 5.Need installation and plugin 6.Need for training |
Weakness | 1. The change item if does not intend to be deployed cannot be removed from the comparisons list. It may cause deployment failure. 2. The comparison took minutes to come back, sometimes. Switching between source & target requires to run through the whole process again which also took quite a bit of time waiting.
| 1. The progress bar takes longer time to display the status at times. When compared to deployment progress bar on Salesforce, lag is observed when displaying errors. 2. In error scenarios, user needs to wait for the entire deployment to complete to receive the error message. At times the error message is not very informative, and needs to refer to the deployment error record in Salesforce to find accurate information on the failure. 3.Turnaround time in terms of Copado Support from team is poor, and needs to wait time to fix any issue | 1. The Blue Canvas repo is privately hosted on Amazon Web Services. They currently do not offer an on-premise solution 2. The Blue Canvas repository is hosted at https://git.bluecanvas.io/v1/<account>/<project>.git 3. The Blue Canvas will stop using the API calls once it hits 75% of the API limit. 4 profiles need to be compared in separate tool 5. Committed to platform and not exportable 6.lots of pre configuration related to BC
| 1. Certification is valid for only 1 year and there should be free training available 2. Product can be more briefly documented and optimized. Less resources available as of now. User interface improvements needed as well | 1. Performance needs to be improved. 2.Takes lot of time to fetch changes from branches and also to merge/ commit changes 3.The UI is awful and unintuitive(I watched video and have same impression) | 1. Error is hard to reproduce. Recreating the actual issue by the cloudbees engineer because Amex has a complex setup and thousands of builds. It is not easy to recreate the issue easily from any environment so we had to provide the logs, meet through webex to explain the actual issue |
