What is a Notice of Collection?

The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) outlines conditions under which municipal organizations such as the City must provide notice to an individual whose personal information will be collected. There are some circumstances under which no notice is required.  CIMS' Information Collection staff deliver a Forms Consultation service that includes helping to determine whether a Notice is required.

Environment and Climate collects personal information on this form under the legal authority of Toronto City Council Item 2023.IE3.3, as confirmed by the City of Toronto By-law 482-2023. The information is used to administer the SolarTO program.
